Independence and revenue

How trust and commerce stay separate

RacefietsVergelijker may receive revenue through shop referrals or partnerships. That must not determine which road bike we recommend, how a road bike scores or how editorial rankings are built. Product quality, personal match and shop information remain separate signals.

Score is separate from the shopA commission does not change the editorial assessment of a road bike.
Advice stays explainableRecommendations come from your answers, product features and our assessment rules.
Price is a separate layerRetailer prices can help with buying, but they are not the same as product quality.

How RacefietsVergelijker can earn revenue

Some links to shops may be affiliate links. If you buy something through such a link, RacefietsVergelijker may receive a commission. The price does not have to be higher for you because of that.

We can also work with bike shops or retailers on product feeds, price corrections, stock updates or pilot agreements. Such cooperation is meant to improve buying information, not to buy a higher score or better editorial position.

Commission or cooperation is revenue for the platform, not an assessment criterion. Sponsored placements, advertisements or commercial partnerships are labeled and kept outside editorial rankings. We do not sell paid placement as independent advice.

What visitors should be able to recognize

  • Whether a link to a shop is a buy link or partner link.
  • Whether a position is editorial, personally recommended or commercially purchased.
  • Whether a score is about product quality, personal match, user experience or shop information.
  • When information has not yet been fully checked, for example with missing feed data, frame-size availability or product specifications.

What revenue must not determine

  • The editorial score of a road bike.
  • The explanation of why a road bike does or does not fit your use case, budget and level.
  • The editorial ranking or order of personal choice-helper results.
  • The separation between product quality, user experiences and shop quality.
  • The publication of unchecked shop data as if it were already verified.

What we may show commercially

We may show prices, availability, providers and buy links to make your buying decision more practical. That information comes from shops, partners or manual input and can change.

We therefore show shop information separately from our assessment. A cheap road bike can be a good deal, but that does not make it the best road bike for your rides. A commission does not improve its score.

In a shop pilot, we can start with a limited set of controlled offers. Only when price, source, link and freshness are correct can an offer appear as a verified shop button.

Which rules apply to buy links

Buy links and partner links may help visitors view a road bike at a shop, but they must not become editorial advice. Fixed rules apply before shop information is shown prominently.

  • Partner links must remain recognizable when they are used.
  • Prices, stock and frame-size availability must be separate from the editorial assessment.
  • A shop or partner can provide product data and corrections, but publication happens only after review.
  • Sponsored positions or advertisements must be labeled as commercial and stay outside the editorial ranking.
  • Corrections from brands or retailers are assessed on substance and do not raise a score by themselves.
